Okechukwu Pascal, also known as Chief Priest, a popular Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, has joined the growing chorus of voices calling on President Bola Tinubu to ban public grazing in the aftermath of the horrible massacre in Benue State.
According to reports, in an Instagram post, the famous bartender urged Tinubu to take quick action by outlawing open grazing across the country.
He emphasized ranching as a more sustainable and safe alternative.
The Chief Priest also advised the people of Benue to prioritize their safety, noting that protecting yourself is not a crime.

He wrote, “My President, issue that order now!!! Stop public grazing. The amount of destruction done is horrific. This craziness must cease. Feed your animals at your ranches.” Sharpen your sword, Benue! ⚔️. There is no need for anyone to kpai you. “To defend yourself is not a crime!!!”
Meanwhile, Tinubu has stated that if land-grabbing is discovered to be at the base of Benue State’s periodic attacks, particularly the recent slaughter in Yelwata, the Federal Government will address the issue head on.
Tinubu stated on Wednesday during a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, that Nigeria must put a stop to the violence that has cost hundreds of lives and uprooted entire communities.
According to reports, the President stated, “We were not elected to bury people, have orphans, or orphanages. We will work with you to bring peace.”
The President recognized the mounting tension over land conflicts and instructed that they be dealt holistically.
