Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up for Miss Universe, has declared her intention to retire from pageantry.

The model said that she was leaving pageantry for personal reasons and moving from her native South Africa to Nigeria.

“Being in the top two [at the Miss Universe competition] is still shocking to me,” she remarked. To be honest, I’m finished. For me, pageantry was a truly horrific event.

“People are still unable to comprehend my feelings. During the Miss Universe competition, there were moments when I considered giving up. I’ve had enough of pageantry. I want to put myself first and define my identity. and continue my studies as well.

Adetshina won the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after becoming first runner-up in the Miss Universe competition.

After she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism regarding her nationality, she went on to win Miss Nigeria.

According to Peter Obi, Chidimma Adetshina is a symbol of hope.
