Chidimma Adetshina, the runner-up for Miss Universe, has declared her intention to retire from pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina revealed this.
She claims that she has experienced trauma from pageantry.
She bemoaned the fact that she nearly gave up on the Miss Universe competition.
The model said that she was leaving pageantry for personal reasons and moving from her native South Africa to Nigeria.
“Being in the top two [at the Miss Universe competition] is still shocking to me,” she remarked. To be honest, I’m finished. For me, pageantry was a truly horrific event.
“People are still unable to comprehend my feelings. During the Miss Universe competition, there were moments when I considered giving up. I’ve had enough of pageantry. I want to put myself first and define my identity. and continue my studies as well.
Adetshina won the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after becoming first runner-up in the Miss Universe competition.
After she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism regarding her nationality, she went on to win Miss Nigeria.
According to Peter Obi, Chidimma Adetshina is a symbol of hope.

Peter Obi stated in a post on X on Monday that Adetshina’s ascent to fame is proof of her tenacity, resolve, and commitment.
As you may remember, Adetshina placed first runner-up in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, which took place in Mexico. On Sunday morning, the organizers announced the outcome on Instagram.
In response, Obi gave her high marks for overcoming all obstacles and working hard to establish herself on the global stage.
I paid close attention to our Nigerian beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina’s path and ascent to fame. I can only characterize her journey as an example of tenacity, resolve, and commitment.
She maintained her faith, hope, and will to succeed despite her hardships and the extremely trying circumstances.

“We are proud of her for competing against over 120 women from around the world and placing first runner-up in the competition and first in Africa, even though she may not have won the 2024 Miss Universe title.

Obi went on to say that the beauty queen is a representation of optimism and a guarantee that a better Nigeria is achievable despite all the challenges.
