Upon the sacred occasion of June 12, I did sojourn with the progressive youth of our clime, to deliberate earnestly upon the deepening of our fledgling democracy. For what, if not service, is the soul of democracy? Its true elegance resides not in theory, but in its capacity to yield tangibles—peace, prosperity, and purpose—to both the resident and the enterprising citizen alike.
Let it be known: the heart of a democrat ought to beat for the joy of his people. To see a smile upon the face of even one constituent—this, indeed, is governance fulfilled.
In humble gratitude do I extend my thanks to the apex leadership and the vibrant youth who have received me with open arms and hopeful hearts. I vow, solemnly, to uphold the trust reposed in me—I shall not let it fall to the dust.
Amuwo Odofin LGA, under my stewardship, shall not merely thrive—it shall flourish as the exemplar of good governance. We shall entrench security as norm, not exception. We shall render our environs both habitable and hospitable, beckoning enterprise and nourishing dreams. Primary healthcare shall not lag but lead, and education shall occupy the highest rung of our developmental ladder.
Be it also resolved: Festac Town shall be restored to her erstwhile beauty—no longer a memory, but a marvel reborn. In this vein, 2,000 trees shall we plant—not merely as flora, but as emblems of renewal and guardians of our shared environment.
Let all men and women of goodwill join hands with me, that our local government may become not just a place, but a pride—ours and the nation’s.
To me, June 12 is no mere date—it is a covenant renewed, a call to elevate governance beyond politics, and to ensconce service at the very heart of our public life.
