Joe Igbokwe, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized artist Davido for cautioning Americans against moving to Nigeria.
On an American podcast, Davido was known to caution Americans against considering moving to Africa, particularly Nigeria, citing the continent’s “shambles” economy.
Igbo responded by demanding a retraction from Davido, claiming that his identity was shaped by his nation.
He posted on Facebook, saying, “My in-law Davido has saddened me by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in ruins.” This is very depressing. I’ll tell him to take the statement down as soon as possible. Davido came from Nigeria. “QED!”
