Liverpool is continuing a summer of major change as they have confirmed the departure of seven Academy players whose contracts expire at the end of the 2024–25 season.
Among the players leaving is Dominic Corness, a 22-year-old midfielder who played the second half of the season on loan at Gillingham in League Two.
With Yverdon-Sport, Corness had already accumulated experience in the Swiss Super League.
Additionally departing are goalkeepers Jacob Poytress (21), Reece Trueman (20), and Jakub Ojrzynski (22), who have primarily been training goalkeepers for the first team and the Under-21s.
After an injury-plagued stint, versatile 20-year-old defender Lee Jonas leaves the team, and unexpected departures from the U18 lineup include left-back Harry Evers and center-back Louis Enahoro-Marcus, both of whom are only 18 years old.
With Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold, two senior players, already departed and Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong joining as a fresh addition, the departures coincide with a larger reorganization at Liverpool.

Milos Kerkez, a left-back for Bournemouth, is apparently being pursued by the Reds, and
Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, a playmaker.
Eight talented young players from the Academy have received formal contract offers from Liverpool, in contrast to the departures. Forwards Keyrol Figueroa, Ranel Young, and Kareem Ahmed are among them, as are midfielders Michael Laffey and Kyle Kelly, and defenders Wellity Lucky, Terence Miles, and Emmanuel Airoboma.
A summer reorganization of the Academy is planned, with other changes anticipated at Kirkby. U18s coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson has resigned, and Lewis Nightingale, the U16s manager, is one of the contenders to take his position.
A similar tendency can be seen in this year’s list of departures, as 11 players left at the end of their contracts last summer. Thiago Alcântara, Adrian, and Joel Matip were among the senior trio; Adrian returned to Real Betis, while Matip and Thiago retired.
A number of Academy alumni who departed in 2024 have since joined other clubs. The transfers of Adam Lewis to Morecambe, Melkamu Frauendorf to Hannover, and Mateusz Musialowski to Omonia are noteworthy.
