Jesse Jagz, a singer and rapper, has asked Nigerians to reassess their approach to religion.
Jagz said that African traditional religious gods are inebriated due to the alcohol priests feed them during rites.
According to him, this is why they are obese, diabetic, and unable to assist their worshippers.
During his appearance on the ‘Big Talk’ podcast, the rapper also stated that it is incorrect for followers of other religions to simply pray and expect miracles without doing any labor.
He emphasized that prayers do not cover basic social needs.
“When you visit a shrine and watch the priest pouring gin on the gods, Google how much a bottle of gin cost in slavery. Forty slaves.
“Our gods are intoxicated with alcohol and meat. They’re obese and diabetic.
“They can’t help us with anything. Prayers do not pave roads or provide books for children. “We have forgotten humanity,” he stated.
