Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has said that his foreign tours are frequently met with warm receptions, including invitations to dine with presidents in many nations he visits.
In an interview with Kiss Fresh London, Davido stated that his celebrity position has allowed him to contact with notable personalities such as the World Bank president and leaders of key countries.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his global fanbase, particularly in Africa.
“The President of every country we visit asks us to dinner, with the exception of London [United Kingdom] and the United States of America.
“It is amazing to see. I mean, leaving my nation, Nigeria, and being welcomed like a president in other countries demonstrates how well Nigeria is going globally in terms of music and cultural effect,” he stated.
He also revealed that his Jamaican counterpart, YG Marley, was taken aback by the overwhelming affection and support from his fans during their recent collaboration.

Meanwhile, Davido has revealed his new track, Awuke, featuring YG Marley.
This marks his return to solo music after the release of Timeless, his fourth studio album, in March 2023.
While Davido has been active in the music market with numerous collaborations such as the popular remixes ‘Twe Twe’ with Kizz Daniel and ‘Ogechi’ starring Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, his latest solo effort has left a big vacuum for fans.
The singer’s latest foray into the Amapiano genre, a significant change from his customary Afrobeats sound, is a duet with YG Marley, the grandson of reggae great Bob Marley.
