Prince Lanre Sanusi was visibly elated as he welcomed a mammoth crowd of South-South and Niger Delta residents at a solidarity rally held in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area (LGA).
The event was led by the Apex Leader of the South-South/Niger Delta group, Chief Ofili Odili, who introduced several dignitaries, including the group’s Coordinator, Mr. Richard Omachonu. Also present was Chief Azubuike from the South-East, who joined in a show of unity and support.
After brief introductions by some South-South executives, Chief Ofili Odili delivered a passionate speech affirming their commitment to mobilize residents from the Niger Delta extraction in support of Prince Lanre Sanusi’s candidacy for the Chairmanship of Amuwo Odofin LGA in the upcoming July 12, 2025 elections.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chairman, Maureen Ashara, expressed deep appreciation to the South-South community. She emphasized that the dividends of democracy are nearer than ever and appealed for their votes and collaboration toward a successful election and administration.
When Prince Lanre Sanusi took the stage, he radiated energy and excitement, thanking the group for their courtesy visit. He described the South-South people as the “energy of the nation” and pledged a mutually beneficial partnership with them.
In his remarks, Prince Lanre Sanusi reiterated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the party of the people—a party that transcends ethnic, racial, and tribal boundaries. “We are one indivisible people with shared aspirations and a common vision,” he said.
He pledged to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership, promising to activate a reward system that recognizes loyalty, performance, and community impact.
He outlined his priority programs for the LGA as follows:
