Wumi Toriola, a Nollywood actress, has broken Toyin Abraham’s record at the box office.

Wumi Toriola won the 2024 box office title just a few days before to this.

According to reports, the National Film and Video Censors Board, or NFVCB, on behalf of the Federal Government, presented the actress with the title of box office champion.

With her most recent picture, Queen Lateefah, which is now among the highest-grossing Nigerian films ever, Toriola shattered Abraham’s record.

In barely two months since its September premiere, the movie has made N350 million, more than Abraham’s “Malaika,” which brought in N302 million.

Queen Lateefah is now in the top 7 highest-grossing Nollywood movie thanks to this latest accomplishment. The movie is currently ready to break the records that actress Funke Akindele set with her roles in “A Tribe Called Judah” and “Battle On Buka Street.”

She responded to the news on Instagram, writing: “Queen Lateefah is still waxing strong and shining bright at number seven! bringing in 350 million dollars and ranking as the seventh highest-grossing Nollywood film ever. Many thanks to all of you.
