President Bola Tinubu has been accused by well-known singer and activist Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz, of neglecting his main duty of protecting people and property in the nation.
He criticized the president for doing nothing to address the nation’s growing insecurity.
This is what he said on his X account in response to the current Benue State massacre.
The crooner of “This is Nigeria” claimed that Tinubu has repeatedly demonstrated his inability to carry out his main duty of protecting people and businesses.
He emphasized that the president’s usual remarks do not deal with the problem of insecurity.
According to Falz, “You have repeatedly demonstrated that you are unable to fulfill the fundamental responsibility of protecting the lives and property of your citizens.” This cliched statement is inadequate.
Falz complained that the murders in Benue are not receiving enough attention in a different post.
In Benue, more than 200 people have been senselessly killed and burned alive, and this is not even receiving nearly enough attention, he said. What makes us so unkind to ourselves?
Idris Okunneye, sometimes known as Bobrisky, is a controversial crossdresser, however Falz has denied any association with her.
VeryDarkMan, better known as VDM, was a social media critic who revealed Falz’s purported phone conversation with Bobrisky when the latter was incarcerated in 2024.
Falz launched a slander lawsuit against VDM because the development led to widespread romantic rumors about him.
In a Wednesday, June 4, 2025, interview with Arise TV, Falz denied having a relationship with Bobrisky amid the ongoing legal disputes with VDM, saying he merely attempted to assist.
According to Falz, who provided an update on the court case involving VDM, the social media critic has not yet entered the defense.

The legal matter is still very much pending, he said. My dad and I have filed a substantive lawsuit for defamation. They have never entered the defense since we filed the case. Instead, they filed a preliminary objection, claiming that the court lacked the authority to hear the matter.
I had been in court as of the latest date. That initial objection was dismissed by the court. They now have to file a defense, failing which the court will simply make a decision. The update is as follows. I will leave the topic of the ongoing case alone because I am unable to say much about it.
“Before that phone conversation, I had no relationship with Bobrisky. He said, “I’m in this case and I want to speak to you about how you can help,” in an Instagram message. Additionally, I received messages from thousands of others discussing similar topics. This situation is not unique; it is not extraordinary in any manner.
I will often give them an audience and ask them questions like, “What’s the P? How can I help?” In a caring manner. Little did I know. Anyway, once you’re bitten, you’ll be bashful forever. In the end, I may not provide a helping hand to anyone again, but I may become much more aware of my surroundings.
