Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar celebrated the 70th birthday of former Bauchi State Governor and former PDP National Chairman Adamu Muazu on Saturday alongside a number of current and former Nigerian politicians.
Among the prominent group of dignitaries who attended the high-profile event in Bauchi were former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former military Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd), former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
In a message published on his official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, Atiku characterized the event as an opportunity to consider how Muazu contributed to the establishment of contemporary Nigerian governance.
Along with numerous other notable Nigerian leaders, Atiku said, “Today, I joined my boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, and Vice President Kashim Shettima in paying tribute to Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Muazu.”
During his tenure under Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, the former vice president recalled Muazu’s important contributions to the PDP and administration.

“I collaborated with Muazu and other governors who held office during my tenure as Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 to establish the groundwork for sound governance and private sector-driven economic expansion in Nigeria,” he continued.
At the ceremony, Muazu, the former governor of Bauchi State from 1999 to 2007, received a lot of acclaim for his leadership style and progress. In the political world, Muazu is referred to as the “game changer.” He later held the position of PDP National Chairman, where he guided the party through pivotal election cycles.
Atiku praised the celebrant’s tenacity and commitment to the development of the country.
“I took this opportunity to congratulate Mu’azu and wish him many more years of prosperity and health,” he said.
