Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has blasted Israel and Iran after a ceasefire he mediated between the two bitter enemies failed, threatening to violate the truce and escalate tensions if more military action is taken.
Trump, who announced the staggered ceasefire late Monday, reportedly said that both countries had “fully agreed” to end hostilities, describing the move as a breakthrough following what he called a “12-day war.”
However, hours before the ceasefire was about to go into effect on Tuesday, the Israeli government accused Iran of breaking the rules, a charge Tehran swiftly refuted, causing the shaky truce to become even more unclear.
Tuesday’s ceasefire was scheduled to begin at 4:00 a.m. GMT, but Israel said Iran fired rockets just after the truce began. The office of the Israeli prime minister denounced the action and pledged to “respond forcefully” to any attack.
Tel Aviv retains the right to self-defense, the office said, adding that Israel “will not stand idle in the face of provocation.”
Iranian officials said that they would not think twice about retaliating, accused Israel of making “false claims,” and denied violating the ceasefire.

In a televised statement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said, “Any renewed aggression will be met with a decisive, firm, and timely response.” POCO mobile phones
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his frustration over the events, accusing both parties of undermining a peace endeavor that he had ardently supported.
“A ceasefire has been established! I appreciate your consideration of this issue. Trump posted, adamant that there should be no more assaults.
Trump threatened to break the conditions of the agreement if Israel continued to strike Iran in a separate post that was filled with rage and profanity.
“Every plane will turn around and return home, while giving Iran a friendly ‘Plane Wave,'” he continued in his very dramatic manner.
In what officials called a “limited response,” Israeli forces apparently hit a radar site north of Tehran in spite of Trump’s warnings.
However, the Israeli government declared it will halt more assaults until diplomatic talks were held after a direct discussion between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
