Presidency Takes Hard Line, Orders Terrorists to Surrender or Be Eliminated

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, has reiterated the government’s commitment to ending terrorism in Nigeria.

It was reported that the presidential spokesman praised the country’s security forces for their efforts in the fight against terrorists, kidnappers, bandits and other criminals operating in the country.

However, he added that no matter how long it takes, the only option is for the terrorists to surrender or be eliminated.

He said President Tinubu would never give in to the demands of the terrorists.

“These victories, arrests and pressure against terrorists and kidnappers by our soldiers must be lauded and documented as part of the security achievement of the Tinubu administration. President Tinubu has since vowed we will not give up. “The terrorists must surrender or be decimated,” he wrote on his 𝕏 Account in reaction to a confirmation by the Nigerian Army that troops recorded a major operational success with the arrest of a suspected high-profile arms trafficker linked to an interstate illegal weapons network.

Recall that President Tinubu has expressed shock over the death of retired Major-General Rabe Abubakar in the custody of terrorists in Katsina State.

News of the assassination of Major General Hassan Abubakar (retd) has been received with shock and sadness by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said General Abubakar retired few years ago after a distinguished career in the military. He added that he was on his way to his home town when the hoodlums got him.

“Though the terrorists have done their worst, the President wants them to know that the government will never bow to their demand to release their members held by our security agencies,” the statement said.
