The Minister of Defense, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has listed political stability and institutional harmony as conditions for maintaining Nigeria’s national security.
General Musa made this known in a congratulatory message issued by the Ministry to mark the 58th birthday of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
The Minister, in a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Defense on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, described Yilwatda as a scholar, administrator and statesman whose leadership of the ruling party transcends partisan politics.

He said that political stability and constructive relations among institutions and stakeholders were important to create an environment conducive to national development and security.
Musa acknowledged Yilwatda’s role in leading the APC, stressing that stable political institutions and responsible political engagement could contribute to national cohesion and strengthen the broader security architecture of the country.
The Minister therefore took the opportunity to stress the link between effective political leadership, institutional stability and sustainable national security.
He congratulated Yilwatda on reaching the age of 58 and wished him continued wisdom, courage, good health and strength in his service to the party and the country.
