MOSES OLAREWAJU: “IF MY INTENTION IS NOT GENUINE, MAY I NOT WIN; BUT IF I AM TRULY COMMITTED TO SERVING MY PEOPLE, MAY I WIN BY A LANDSLIDE”

Speaking at an interactive session organised by ARBR, the APC Candidate for the House of Representatives, Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Moses Olarewaju, spoke passionately about his desire and determination to serve the people of Amuwo Odofin.

With deep conviction, he declared:

“My prayer before God is that if I do not have genuine intentions to serve my people, may I not win. But if my desire is to serve the people diligently and faithfully, may I win by a landslide.”

Olarewaju, an entrepreneur who built his business from the ground up, said his personal experience had given him a deep understanding of the challenges confronting businesses, unemployed youths, victims of drug abuse and small and medium-sized enterprises seeking funding.

“Having built my business from scratch, I understand the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and small business owners. I understand the challenges of unemployment, drug abuse and access to funding for SMEs. These are issues that require practical solutions, not mere promises.

“As someone who grew up in this environment, I witnessed the beauty and glory of Amuwo Odofin in years past. It is sad that much of our infrastructure has deteriorated. We need to reconstruct, rehabilitate and renew where necessary.

“Jakande Estate was once our pride. Festac Town was the pride of all. We must restore that glory and reposition Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency for sustainable growth and development.”

As Chairman of his Residents’ Association, Olarewaju said he also understood the yearnings, concerns and aspirations of the people at the grassroots.

“My experience as Chairman of my Residents’ Association has brought me closer to the people and given me a clear understanding of their needs and aspirations. I know what our people are going through, and I know the kind of representation they desire.

“What I can assure everyone is that we are going to do it together. Through consultation, cooperation and consensus, we will work with our people to identify our priorities and implement solutions that will benefit the entire Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.”

He said his representation would be anchored on the effective use of the three core legislative responsibilities of a parliamentarian—Legislation, Oversight and Representation—to attract sustainable development to Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

According to him, women, youths, persons living with disabilities and the elderly would remain key priorities of his representation.

“My legislative actions will be focused on improving the lives of these vulnerable and productive segments of our society. At the same time, infrastructural renewal will be at the top of our priorities in the distribution of constituency projects.

“We will also promote initiatives that support entrepreneurship, create employment opportunities, address drug abuse and improve access to funding for small and medium-sized businesses. These challenges are interconnected, and they require a coordinated and people-centred approach.

“With the huge resources available for constituency development, I am confident that, by the grace of God, we will deliver on the promises and deliverables that our people deserve.”

Olarewaju assured residents that his ambition was not merely about occupying political office, but about using the opportunity of representation to restore confidence, renew infrastructure and create tangible opportunities for the people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.

“Our progress must be collective. I am not coming to impose solutions on the people. I am coming to listen, consult and work with them. Together, through consensus, we will build the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency we all desire.”
