One Good Term Deserves Another: Hon Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaiman Champions a Safer, Stronger Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2

At a time when security, economic stability and the wellbeing of families remain critical concerns, Hon. Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaiman PhD, the APC Candidate for Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2, has reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful representation, proactive legislation and stronger community partnerships.

Age-Sulaiman was among the political stakeholders who participated in the Amuwo Odofin Security Summit, organised by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, bringing together the crème de la crème of the community, traditional rulers, security agencies, community leaders, religious institutions and other stakeholders.

The summit provided another opportunity to demonstrate that effective representation goes beyond the walls of the Lagos State House of Assembly. It requires listening to the people, understanding their concerns and building the partnerships necessary to translate those concerns into practical action.

In his welcome address, the Mayor of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi, appreciated residents and particularly the Kabiyesis for their impressive turnout and continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and security.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police also gave a detailed account of the activities of the Police Force, emphasising that community collaboration remains a key ingredient in achieving a safer environment.

For Age-Sulaiman, that message resonates strongly with his philosophy of representation: government cannot secure communities alone; legislators, traditional institutions, community associations, religious bodies, security agencies and residents must work together.

A REPRESENTATIVE WHO STANDS WITH HIS PEOPLE

The presence of the traditional institution was particularly significant, with Oba Mobadenle Oyekan of Ilado, Chairman of the Amuwo Odofin Council of Obas and Traditional Chiefs; the Onilado of Ilado Kingdom; Oba Ofori of Ibeshe, and other distinguished Obas in attendance.

The summit also witnessed the presence of Hon. Ramotalai Akinola, the former Chairman of Oriade LCDA, and the incumbent Chairman of Oriade LCDA, whose participation further underscored the importance of collaboration among political leaders and stakeholders in advancing community development and security.

Prominent community leaders were also present, including Akinwale Thomas Owoseni, President of the Association of Festac Extension Residents; Mr. Mufutau Ayilara, President of Mile 2 Jakande Estate; and Dr. Innocent Kokobili, Chairman of Festac Town Residents Association, Community 2.

Also present were representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Chief Imam General of Festac Town Muslim Community, and the President of the Odua People’s Congress Reformed, Chief Oluwadare Adesope.

The diversity of stakeholders at the summit once again demonstrated the strength of Amuwo Odofin’s unity when its people come together around issues that affect everyone.

FROM REPRESENTATION TO PROACTIVE LEGISLATION

For Hon. Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaiman PhD, security must remain part of a broader legislative agenda that places the people at the centre.

A safer constituency means a better environment for businesses to thrive, children to grow, women to pursue their livelihoods, young people to build their future and families to live with confidence.

His campaign therefore represents a continuation of a leadership philosophy anchored on accessible representation, proactive legislation, constituency engagement and responsive leadership.

Age-Sulaiman understands the legislative process, understands the constituency and, most importantly, understands that representation is a responsibility—not a privilege to be taken for granted.

THE CHOICE IS EXPERIENCE AND CONTINUITY

As the campaign gathers momentum, the message from Constituency 2 is becoming increasingly clear: experience matters.

The people need a representative who can hit the ground running, engage effectively with government institutions and continue to attract attention to the needs of the constituency.

Hon. Rauf Olawale Age-Sulaiman PhD represents experience, continuity and purposeful representation.

His campaign is not merely about another election. It is about consolidating what works, strengthening what needs improvement and ensuring that the voice of Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2 remains strong, respected and effective.

ONE GOOD TERM DESERVES ANOTHER

In politics, promises are easy. Performance, experience and consistency are what count.

For Amuwo Odofin Constituency 2, the choice is therefore about continuity with a representative who understands the people, understands the terrain and understands the responsibility that comes with the mandate.
