The 2024 African Military Games opening ceremony in Abuja today will feature a performance by the quartet of Nigerian musicians, D’banj, Olamide, Yemi Alade, and Timi Dakolo.
“The stage is set and the legends are coming for the opening ceremony of #AMGA2024,” the Nigerian Army posted on X.

The 2nd African Military Games, or AMGA 2024, will feature 25 participant nations.
With the exception of obstacle crossing and shooting, the competitors will compete in 19 sports events held at Moshood Abiola Stadium.
The International Military Sports Council (CISM) and the Organization of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) are in charge of organizing the 2024 Africa Military Games.
D’banj played at the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) closing ceremony in South Africa, when the Nigerian Super Eagles emerged victorious.
Yemi Alade appeared at the opening ceremony of the most recent AFCON in Ivory Coast and sang the song’s soundtrack.
