2026 Budget Controversy: PFIPC Suspect Adeyemi Explains Alleged Fake Agency

Prince Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, who calls himself the Director-General of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), told how the proposed agency was eventually inserted into the Federal Government’s budget, even though he was arrested before the appropriation process was concluded.

Naija News understands that Adeyemi made the claims during an interview with social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, in a video released shortly after his arrest.

He also denied allegations that the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, was involved in securing the agency’s reported N1.3 billion budgetary allocation, insisting that he personally approached officials of the Budget Office to seek the agency’s inclusion.

Adeyemi said he went to the Budget Office in December 2024 to ask that the agency be included in the 2025 Appropriation Bill.

But he said he was told the budget process was already closed.

He said, “I went to that Budget Office for the 2025 budget.” I sent the letter and everything I wanted, but they told me it was already late.

“When the 2025 budget was released and I didn’t see it, they told me it was now for the 2026 budget. We stayed in touch because they said it would be considered later.”

Budget officials said they would help.
Adeyemi said a female official at the Budget Office facilitated his access to the office of the Director-General before he was referred to another director.

He said, “She helped me see the oga. Now Oga said, ‘Where’s my shini?’ I told him I had no shini. Then he asked me to meet a director.”

He added that the director explained that the proposal could no longer be included in the 2025 budget but assured him that efforts would continue towards its inclusion in the 2026 budget.

“They were trying for me that perhaps they would include it but unfortunately they said it could not be included in the 2025 budget. They said it was going to be 2026,” he said.

“I paid no one.”
Adeyemi, fielding questions on whether he bribed any Budget Office official, maintained that no money changed hands in the process.

He admitted only offering to assist some officials with job opportunities if the agency ever became operational.

“I didn’t pay anything, honestly,” he said. No one I paid. The only promise I made was that if I started employing people I could help them with employment opportunities.”

“That’s the favour I promised them,” he added. I did not give money to anybody. “It was only a promise that if they had people, I could use them later.”

Adeyemi said: “As soon as I was arrested, my hands were full with my legal challenges and all attempts to continue with the proposed agency came to a halt.

And he says, “Right away there was a problem, everything stopped. Even the woman that wanted to help was calling because she couldn’t get ahold of me. “I said to her, ‘Stop everything.”

He said he was surprised the agency later appeared in the Federal Government’s budget.

I didn’t even know until they said it was within budget. I was already out of the office. Where would I still go after the budget when I was already facing court?” he said.

When asked if Budget Office officials may have inserted the agency into the budget after his arrest, Adeyemi said, “I don’t know because once that problem started, everything stopped. “Why do I want the budget anyway if I was already in trouble?”

Adeyemi also spoke further on claims that he paid ₦400 million to aid his appointment.

He said the funds were transmitted in United States dollars through his late partner, Dolapo Tanimola.

But he said he could not confirm whether the money ultimately reached the President’s Chief of Staff.

When asked what currency the money was reported to have been paid in, he said: “Dollars.”

He answered, “Dolapo,” when asked who received it.

I Did Not Meet Gbajabiamila
Adeniyi also said he never met Gbajabiamila face-to-face before or after his appointment.

Tanimola handled all the communications throughout the process, he said.

“I never saw Gbajabiamila physically before and after he was appointed,” he said. “Dolapo Tanimola took care of everything for me.”

However, the Presidency and the Budget Office are yet to publicly respond to Adeyemi’s latest allegations.
