A Nigerian marketer and film director has addressed the criticism he received following his marriage to actress Mercy Aigbe.

Funsho Adeoti, his first wife, accused Mercy of stealing him when she announced Adeoti as her husband in January 2022.

Kazim justified his decision to take a second wife by stating that it is consistent with his Muslim faith.

He claimed in an interview at the National Film and Video Censors Board conference in Lagos that he is powerless to control how people perceive or discuss his marriage because he is a public person.

According to Kazim, he maintains focus on his work because he believes the results will justify the effort.

“When you’re in the public sphere, you can’t really control a lot of opinions or narratives,” he remarked. The most crucial thing is to maintain concentration, because ultimately, the goal justifies the means.

Kazim discussed the difficulties facing the Yoruba film industry, highlighting the fact that one of the main concerns is a lack of money.

He thinks that producing outstanding movies with original plots and talented actors requires teamwork and sufficient funding.

We have what it takes to make good movies, so I think it is more of a collaboration issue,” he continued. We have it all: a compelling plot, unique storytelling, authentic storytelling, and outstanding acting.

However, in the majority of cases, our ability to bring those stories to life is constrained by a lack of finance. This is because we know that this is the proper method to accomplish things, but the job is limited when we lack sufficient cash.
