Billionaire heiress and Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy has vowed never to marry a Nigerian.
She said this during a recent podcast appearance, it was reported.
On the discussion, Cuppy said her decision was based on her previous experience with someone who she said was more interested in meeting her father than in building a real relationship with her.
She said the experience often makes her wonder about the motives of some men who approach her.
“I can’t marry a Nigerian. You can’t. The most recent guy I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even believe they like me. My dad doesn’t care who I marry. He just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi,” she said.
DJ Cuppy has shared details about her dating journey and how it has shaped her choice of partner presently.
She was said to have spoken during a chat with ZeZe Millz, where Cuppy explained that over the years she has met and dated different types of men.
She said the 33-year-old has been with men from all walks of life, including a model, a footballer and even a bus driver.
Many of these connections she said she made through dating apps, she said, adding she once paid about £400, or over ₦700,000, to join one of the platforms.
“My mindset about relationships has changed with time, especially after my younger sister, Temi Otedola, got married to singer Mr Eazi, Cuppy said
She said, “I don’t want to get involved in complicated relationships. I now want a calm and simple partner who has a regular job and doesn’t use social media.
“I’ve dated all sorts of guys but all I want now is a simple 9-5 guy with no social media,” she said. I once dated a bus driver I met on a dating app I paid £400 to join.”
Her previous relationships have often been played out in the public eye. In 2022, she was briefly engaged to British boxer Ryan Taylor, but the couple broke off the engagement. In the past, she has also been linked to music executive Asa Asika.
