Abia Governor Otti Demands Transparent Evaluation from Federal Project Inspectors

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has charged the members of the Renewed Hope Projects Media Team, who are in the state for a project tour, to carry out their assignment with the principles of professionalism, objectivity, fairness and accuracy.

Governor Otti gave the charge Tuesday evening in Umuahia when the state government received members of the Renewed Hope Projects Media Tour, who are in Abia to inspect various projects executed by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Alex Otti.

Otti, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, said the visit was a significant step towards promoting transparency, accountability and public awareness of government projects and policies across the country.

As you fulfill this responsibility, I urge you to adhere to the principles of professionalism, objectivity, fairness and accuracy.

The country needs journalists who can surmount such challenges, reject misinformation and meaningfully contribute to national development.

“We are happy to be scrutinised because we believe that real progress must be looked at, evaluated and reported on objectively,” said Governor Otti.

The governor who urged the media team to interact freely with Abia people, said the various projects executed by the Abia State Government in communities reflected the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who led the team in his speech on behalf of the Renewed Hope Media Tour team, said his team would inspect key federal and state projects objectively.

He said that there is need for partnership between the federal and state governments for national development.
