The Nigerian film industry is in mourning following the death of acclaimed filmmaker and director, Dimbo Atiya.
The news of his death was announced on social media by Nollywood actor Mofe Duncan, who paid tribute to the late director and expressed sadness over the loss.
While the cause of death is yet to be made public, the announcement has triggered an outpouring of grief from colleagues, actors and fans, many of whom have taken to social media to celebrate Dimbo Atiya’s contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
Atiay is known for his work behind the camera and garnered respect for directing and producing several notable projects. He helped shape the careers of many actors while contributing to the growth of Nollywood.
Tributes from those in the entertainment industry have continued to pour in, describing him as a talented filmmaker, mentor and creative force whose legacy will live on through his work.
The family has not yet announced any funeral arrangements.
