Nollywood actress, Paschaline Alex, has started a new chapter of her life after welcoming her first child.
The Jenifa’s Diary star broke the good news as she shared a series of maternity photos with her followers on Instagram. The actress shared details of her pregnancy journey and how motherhood has given deeper meaning to something she’d often heard people say about becoming a mother.
“People always say that the experience of motherhood changes a woman and now I know that statement from experience,” said Paschaline.
The actress posted a maternity photo of herself and said she sees more than just a pregnant woman. She sees herself slowly becoming a mother, still learning, still trying to figure out what this new phase of life is going to be.
“There were mixed emotions that came with my pregnancy journey,” she said. There were days when she felt totally ready to be a mom, but there were days when she had no idea what she was doing.
“It was a mixture of excitement, uncertainty, fear, gratitude and endless questions as I got ready to welcome my baby,” she said.
But carrying her child in her arms has changed the way she views the whole experience.
“Paschaline said she has come to realize that her pregnancy journey was not just about carrying and developing a baby. And it was about becoming a new version of herself along the way.
Many of her fans have responded to the actress’ moving reflection, celebrating her transition into motherhood and congratulating her on the arrival of her first child.
Hewed words..
Motherhood changes you, they say.
I suppose until you’ve been there yourself you don’t really know what that means.
Looking at these pictures, I see a woman who was becoming a mother, still trying to figure things out. Learning her body, learning to make room for someone she hadn’t met yet, carrying so much love for a little person she only knew through tiny kicks and a heartbeat.
Some days I was ready, other days I had no idea what I was doing. Days of excitement, days of uncertainty, fear, gratitude and so many questions.
But I persevered.
And now, looking at these pictures with you finally in my arms, I realize I wasn’t just growing a baby. I was also becoming a new version of myself.
I’m still learning it. Still working it out. Maybe that’s what motherhood is turning into, day by day.
These pictures will always hold a piece of me I will never forget, the woman who carried you before she ever got to hold you.
And I think there is something so beautiful about that.”
