Real Warri Pikin apologises over viral video with Timaya

Comedienne Warri Pikin has apologised following widespread reactions to a viral video showing her dancing with singer Timaya during a recent performance.

The entertainer became the centre of an online debate after the footage emerged over the weekend. Some social media users criticised her actions, particularly because she is married, while others questioned the circumstances surrounding the performance.

Warri Pikin has since offered an explanation, saying the incident happened spontaneously.

She said she was backstage enjoying Timaya’s performance when the singer asked a woman to join him on stage during his song “Ukwu.” According to her, she was carried away by the excitement and quickly went onto the stage.

The comedian said she was initially reluctant to participate when Timaya invited her to jump on him. However, she eventually agreed after he told her that she had voluntarily come out and should not disrupt his performance.

Warri Pikin acknowledged that the moment appeared entertaining to her while she was on stage, but admitted that the footage created a different impression when viewed online.

She further revealed that her husband, Ikechukwu, was upset by the incident.

In response to the backlash, she accepted responsibility and appealed to Nigerians to forgive her.

The comedienne said the conduct was out of character and reaffirmed her commitment to her marriage.

She also urged her critics to understand that not everyone who condemned the video was acting out of hatred. According to her, some people were simply concerned about her wellbeing and relationship.

Warri Pikin described the incident as an awkward situation and said she understood the public reaction.

She expressed regret over the controversy and asked her followers to take it easy on her as she moved past the incident.
