A social media disagreement between reality TV star Phyna and Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has culminated in a planned celebrity boxing contest in Lagos.
The two entertainers are scheduled to face each other on October 1 at the Federal Palace Hotel in a bout promoted as “Phyna vs Nkechi.”
Balmoral Group Promotions announced the contest on September 18 under its “Chaos in the Ring” series.
The organisers accompanied the announcement with promotional materials showing Phyna and Nkechi in boxing gear as they prepare for the event.
The contest follows a public exchange between the entertainers on social media. Nkechi had criticised Phyna over her involvement in online disputes, while Phyna questioned the actress’ decision to address her publicly.
Phyna also explained that the two had previously communicated concerning a movie project.
The boxing contest will now provide a live-event setting for the two personalities, moving their disagreement beyond social media.

The “Chaos in the Ring” series has previously featured several entertainers, including Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.
Carter Efe defeated Portable by unanimous decision during their May contest, while Charles Okocha won the rematch held in July.
The upcoming October 1 event will also be accessible to viewers outside the venue, with organisers announcing live coverage on DAZN and SuperSport.
The planned fight highlights the growing connection between Nigeria’s celebrity culture and boxing entertainment, with social media personalities increasingly becoming part of live sporting spectacles.
The format allows entertainment figures to attract attention to boxing events while giving fans an opportunity to see popular personalities participate in a different setting.
However, details regarding the supporting bouts and ticketing arrangements for the Phyna-Nkechi contest had not been made public by Saturday.
The Lagos event is expected to form part of the broader Independence Day entertainment programme.
