Yetunde Barnabas accuses Ajefunke Kofoshi of misleading public over arrest claim

Nollywood actress Yetunde Barnabas has said she decided to let her dispute with Ajefunke Kofoshi go for the sake of peace after what she described as a legal confrontation.

Barnabas made the remarks while responding to Kofoshi’s claim that she had merely been invited by the police. The actress insisted that Kofoshi was arrested and accused her of misleading the public.

The disagreement had previously moved into the legal process, according to Barnabas, who said Kofoshi was asked to delete allegedly defamatory social media posts about her and her work and issue a public apology through a video.

Barnabas later announced that they had “finally faced off legally” and indicated that she was willing to move on, subject to certain conditions.

However, Kofoshi’s video showing the two actresses together and her description of the police encounter prompted another response from Barnabas.

“You were picked up and arrested; you begged and admitted your wrongdoing and begged me, so I let it go for the sake of peace because there’s nothing in this life,” Barnabas wrote.

She further claimed that Kofoshi had asked her to make a video about their disagreement and that she agreed after cautioning her against insulting others.

Barnabas ended her message by urging Kofoshi to present the situation accurately to the public.

The exchange illustrates the continuing disagreement between the actresses over what happened during their encounter with the police and how the matter was resolved.

The allegations and descriptions of the encounter remain based on Barnabas and Kofoshi’s respective accounts.
