Sabinus Laments Nigeria’s Situation, Questions Citizens’ Response to Poor Governance

Nigerian comedian Sabinus has voiced concern over the country’s situation, questioning why citizens find it difficult to unite in demanding good governance and accountability from their leaders.

The entertainer shared his observations in a social media post, where he described the dilemma facing Nigerians who attempt to speak out about national issues.

According to him, people who call for improved governance are often told to mind their business. However, those who choose to avoid political discussions and concentrate on their personal affairs are also criticised.

Sabinus questioned when Nigerians would put aside their differences and collectively demand the rights and benefits they believe they deserve from public officeholders.

In his words, “A lot is going on in this country and we’re just keeping quiet. You demand for good governance, they tell you to mind your business. You try to mind your business, they still insult you. When are we going to come as one and demand for what we’re being owed?”

The comedian’s intervention has brought renewed focus to the role of citizens in promoting accountability and engaging with issues affecting the nation.

His statement also underscores the challenges public figures and ordinary citizens face when expressing opinions about governance.

In a separate development, Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, has admitted that Nigerians are going through difficult times.

He explained that every generation inherits challenges from previous generations but has a responsibility to make choices that will improve life for those coming after it.

Seyi Tinubu further stated that the President Tinubu-led administration had decided to confront the country’s problems, insisting that the decisions being made were intended to create a better future for younger Nigerians.

The comments come as discussions continue over Nigeria’s economic situation, government reforms and citizens’ expectations for improved living standards.
