Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced that her marriage has been legally dissolved by a court, telling fans that she is ready to embrace a new phase of her life.
The actress shared the news in a statement on her Instagram page, where she reflected on the end of the relationship and appealed for privacy as she moves forward.
Agwu described the development as the conclusion of a deeply personal journey, adding that she intended to approach the next chapter with peace, grace and dignity.
She also used the opportunity to encourage the public to show compassion towards people whose marriages have ended, arguing that divorce should not become a reason for ridicule or public humiliation.
In her statement, she said, “Marriage is a personal journey, and not every story ends the way we once hoped. However, I believe everyone deserves the freedom to move forward without judgment, ridicule, or public humiliation.”

The actress explained that she would not reveal private information about the circumstances surrounding the separation or engage in public discussions about the matter.
She also requested that her former partner be given the same privacy, stressing the importance of respecting everyone involved.
Agwu thanked those who had supported her throughout the experience and said she was determined to concentrate on healing and personal growth.
Rather than allow the situation to generate controversy, she said she was choosing to move forward positively.
“I am grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey,” she stated, adding that she was embracing the future with an open heart.
The actress concluded her message with a declaration of resilience, saying, “My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future.”
Her announcement has drawn attention to the challenges associated with ending a marriage and the need to handle such matters with sensitivity.
Agwu’s decision not to disclose further details underscores her desire to keep the circumstances private.
She urged the public to respect her decision and allow both parties to move forward without judgment or unnecessary interference in their personal lives.
