Atiku Raises Alarm Over Gbajabiamila’s Alleged Scandal, Seeks Investigation

Atiku Abubakar, the 2027 Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called for the suspension of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Atiku, in a statement through his media team, told Tinubu to lead by example by holding his appointees accountable, reports say.

Atiku’s statement comes after the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, accused Gbajabiamila of demanding ₦400 million in bribes.

Reacting, Atiku explained that the claim by Gbajabiamila that the agency did not exist has created more credibility gaps for him and puts question marks on the credibility of the entire 2026 national budget.

“How could you put N27.4 billion in the budget for a government agency that does not exist and leave more questions than answers,” he said.

“The former Vice President said the alleged colossal budgetary fraud cannot be brushed aside by weak and unconvincing explanations from the Chief of Staff.

Atiku also called for the suspension of Gbajabiamila and an independent investigation to establish the full truth about this national scandal.

“Good governance is about transparency and accountability and you can’t achieve that by protecting your family and friends,” he added. President Tinubu should set the tone by ensuring that his Chief of Staff is held to the same level of accountability as any other public official. N27 billion is no joke. The rule of law must prevail on this matter. Let President Tinubu show Nigerians that he is sincere about accountability in his administration.”
