Tinubu Consolidation Movement Congratulates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Safe Rescue of the Orire Schoolchildren, Headmistress and Teachers

The Tinubu Consolidation Movement warmly congratulates His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the successful rescue of the abducted schoolchildren, Headmistress and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State after 56 traumatic days in captivity.

The return of these innocent children and their teachers marks the end of a painful ordeal that began on 15 May 2026, when heavily armed terrorists attacked schools in the Ahoro-Esiele and Yawota communities, abducting pupils and teachers in an act that shocked the entire nation. During the period of captivity, the country also mourned the tragic killing of one of the abducted teachers, underscoring the brutality of the kidnappers.

According to information released by the Presidency, the victims were freed through a coordinated security operation. The operation led to the arrest of eight kidnappers, while several others were neutralised. Importantly, the Federal Government confirmed that no prisoner exchange or concession was made despite the kidnappers’ demand for the release of one of their detained kingpins, who remains in custody and is being prosecuted. 

This outcome demonstrates the resilience, professionalism and courage of Nigeria’s security agencies, whose unwavering commitment ensured that the victims were reunited safely with their families. We commend the military, the Department of State Services, the Police, and all security personnel whose dedication made this rescue possible.

We also salute the resilience of the children, the Headmistress, the teachers and their families, who endured unimaginable hardship with hope and faith.

The Tinubu Consolidation Movement believes this successful operation reinforces President Tinubu’s commitment to protecting the lives of Nigerians and strengthening the nation’s security architecture. We encourage the Federal Government to sustain ongoing reforms, improve intelligence gathering, and continue providing the resources needed by our security agencies to defeat terrorism and criminality across the country.

As Nigerians celebrate this victory, we remember those who lost their lives during this unfortunate incident and pray for their eternal repose. May such tragedies never befall our nation again.
