President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged that many Nigerians are still grappling with economic and security challenges.
Tinubu spoke on Sunday while accepting the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential ticket for the 2027 election.
Acknowledging the economic hardships the country is experiencing, he said, “However, there are still challenges ahead. Many Nigerians are still struggling with rising prices and shifts in the economy.
“We hear these concerns, we see them and we lead not from a place of ease, but from a true understanding of the situation, with honesty and decisive action.”
The President also admitted that safety remains a big problem in some areas of the country, even with the military efforts underway.
“I acknowledge that there are still security challenges facing some parts of our great country,” Tinubu said.
His government has put money into intelligence, surveillance and high-end security tools, he said.
“We have invested in intelligence, in watching over things, and new tools, and we are working on the fundamentals of insecurity,” Tinubu said.
He also urged the National Assembly to approve state police “as a matter of national emergency.
