Tinubu Hails Security Forces Over Bandit Kingpin’s Death and Rescue of Gen. Rabe’s Wife

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for a successful operation in Kogi State which resulted in the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Bastuji.

The President said the operation had dealt a heavy blow to the criminal networks terrorising communities in Kogi and neighbouring states.

Bastuji’s reign of violence, kidnapping and attacks on civilians had brought untold hardship on the residents, Tinubu said in a statement issued Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

He said the neutralisation of the bandit leader would help restore confidence and bring relief to the affected communities.

“I send my hearty congratulations to our gallant troops on their decisive milestone. Nigeria will not give up any part of its territory to criminals. “There is no hiding place for those who take this path of violence against innocent citizens,” Tinubu said.

“This achievement is a clear indication of the renewed determination of our security forces to regain every inch of our land,” he said.

The President also congratulated the troops on another successful operation that culminated in the rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of late Rabe Abubakar.

The rescue, he said, showed high level of professionalism and strong determination by the security operatives in dealing with the criminal elements.

“The safe recovery of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar is a relief to her family and all Nigerians. “I commend the officers and men who carried out the rescue operation for their intelligence coordination and bravery,” he said.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to our troops who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.”

President Tinubu assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue to equip the Armed Forces with the necessary resources, training and support to end banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes.

He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with security agencies by giving them timely intelligence and necessary support.
