What You Did Was Barbaric – Rarara Blasts Davido Over FIFA Performance

Afrobeats singer, Davido, has been accused by popular Hausa praise singer, Dauda Adamu Kahutu aka Rarara, of destroying Nigeria’s image.

The singer allegedly said this responding to Davido’s recent performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert.

During the concert, Davido wore a jacket with the words “Bring Them Home” and the names of the abducted schoolgirls and teachers in Oyo State.

In a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Rarara said the action by Davido had cast the country’s image in bad light.

He described the action as barbaric, saying it could harm the country’s image.

“I don’t normally respond or react to issues like this but what Davido did was barbaric,” Rarara said. I believe Davido and people like him are just stupid.

“Can you advertise Ansaru terrorists or insecurity-related issues to the entire world? How do you turn a sensitive national security issue into a story that exposes it to the world in a manner that can harm the country’s image? What do you really get from it?

Davido wrote the names of the abducted school children in Oyo State on the Nigerian flag and displayed it in America. What was the use of that? What did he think he was going to do? Or was it that he had gotten into politics?

The Hausa praise singer claimed that the Afrobeats singer was just canvassing for his uncle who is contesting an election under the Accord Party, and to paint the current administration black.

“Is it because his uncle is contesting an election on Accord party and Tinubu is in APC? Is that why insecurity has to be weaponised for campaigns? He doesn’t get what it means to campaign with insecurity. Anybody who does that is nuts.

“What Davido did is akin to unwrapping his own mother, photographing her and travelling to America to show it to the world and asking people to help cover her up again. What sort of thinking is that? he said.

Security matters are delicate and should not be toyed with, without adequate knowledge of the situation on the ground, he warned. The abduction of the Oyo schoolchildren and teachers, he claimed, was sequel to the arrest of some terrorists by security operatives.

“Insecurity is not something people should rush into. There are facts and circumstances that the average member of the public may not be aware of. You shouldn’t comment on such things without fully understanding the situation.

“Did Davido know the reason those school kids were kidnapped? Some terrorists were captured. When efforts to get them released failed, the kingpins took innocent people hostage in a bid to force the authorities to negotiate.

“The President and security agencies had promised that the terrorists wouldn’t be released and the children would be rescued. It was in this fragile moment that Davido chose to shame us on a world stage.

“You can’t go to China and promote things that the authorities don’t want you to promote. This is also true in many other countries. There are restrictions. But we have some of our content creators, who keep feeding narratives that, in my opinion, ultimately help terrorists.

“Some content creators don’t understand the implications of what they are doing, some do. “Some are sponsored by politicians, some are just chasing engagement and followers,” he said.
