Oprah Winfrey Denies Receiving $1 Million for Campaigning for Kamala Harris
Renowned American television host, Oprah Winfrey, has dismissed reports suggesting she was paid $1 million to campaign for Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s candidate in the recent US presidential election.
A report by the Washington Examiner alleged that Oprah’s production company, Harpo Productions, received a substantial payment for hosting a celebrity town hall event in September in support of Harris. However, Oprah has categorically denied these claims.
Responding to the allegations, Oprah clarified her position, stating, “Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” as quoted by TMZ. She emphasized that she did not receive any financial compensation for participating in activities related to Harris’s campaign.
Despite addressing the payment rumors, the celebrated talk show host refrained from discussing the election results. The election concluded with Donald Trump, the Republican Party’s nominee, emerging as the President-elect.
Oprah’s involvement in the campaign had drawn attention due to her influence and status as a media icon. However, her recent statement has put to rest any speculation regarding her financial motives.
