Freida Parton Rejects Claims of Rift Over Dolly’s Estate
Freida Parton has denied reports suggesting that members of the Parton family are involved in a dispute over the estate of her late sister, Dolly Parton.
Freida made the clarification on Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, saying the family remains united despite a legal dispute involving Dolly’s nephew, Bryan Seaver.
“There is no feud within our family,” Freida stated, adding that no member of the Parton/Owens family was fighting over Dolly’s estate.
Speculation about family tension increased following developments involving Seaver, who had served as head of security for Dolly’s properties.
Seaver was also chosen to announce Dolly’s death but was later removed from the security arrangement.
Dolly’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, subsequently took legal action seeking protection from Seaver.
The estate accused Seaver in court documents of making threatening statements. Seaver has rejected that description and disputed the suggestion that his messages amounted to threats.
A Tennessee judge has since granted a temporary restraining order against Seaver and his private security company.
The legal dispute generated reports of possible tension within the wider Parton family.
Freida, however, said the family’s relationship with Seaver remained intact.
“We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other,” she wrote.
Her statement comes shortly after Dolly’s death at the age of 80 on August 25.
The country music icon’s death has resulted in widespread public interest in her personal affairs, properties and estate.
Freida’s intervention appears aimed at correcting reports that the legal disagreement involving Seaver represents a broader family conflict.
She emphasized that the Parton/Owens family was not divided over Dolly’s estate and expressed affection for her relatives.
The legal proceedings involving Seaver remain ongoing, with the temporary restraining order issued by a Tennessee judge still forming part of the dispute.
For now, Freida has made clear that she does not view the situation as a family feud and maintains that the relatives remain united despite the legal controversy surrounding Dolly’s estate.
