Social media influencer Blessing Nkiruka, popularly called Blessing CEO, is facing trial in Lagos over allegations that she collected N69.15 million for a five-year lease of a property she allegedly did not own.

The allegations were detailed during proceedings at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting the influencer on a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

In a statement published on its social media account on Monday, October 12, the EFCC said its first prosecution witness, Dr Onuoha Okeigwe, testified before Justice R.A. Oshodi.

Okeigwe alleged that Blessing CEO represented herself as the owner of a building at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos, and collected N69,150,000 for a five-year lease.

The prosecution alleged that the influencer induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to pay the money on or about March 21, 2025, through a claim that the property belonged to her and was available for lease.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 on June 9, 2026. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Giving evidence, Okeigwe said he became concerned after a man identified as Mr Tom allegedly arrived at the property with police officers and had some workers arrested.

According to the witness, he contacted Blessing CEO to report the incident. He alleged that she denied knowing Mr Tom while insisting that she owned the property.

Okeigwe said he paid N100,000 to secure the workers’ release. He also identified WhatsApp messages in which the defendant allegedly sent photographs of the building to support her ownership claim.

The witness further alleged that payments were made for agency, legal and caution fees connected with the lease. He also claimed that Blessing CEO collected money from another individual in relation to the same property.

The charges were filed under Section 1(2) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, with the applicable punishment provided under Section 1(3).

Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter until October 26, 2026, for continuation of the trial.

The case is ongoing, and the allegations against Blessing CEO have yet to be proven in court.
