Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the Lagos State APC Campaign Council after her name appeared among members of its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Abraham said she did not authorise her inclusion and maintained that she had already decided to stay away from partisan politics.
The actress made the clarification after the Lagos APC released its campaign council structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Her name appeared alongside several entertainers, including Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Pasuma, Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.

Reacting on Instagram, Abraham stated that she was not a member of any campaign council and asked the public to disregard the reported inclusion of her name.
She later addressed the matter again on X after a user suggested that the development could shield her from further bullying.
Abraham rejected the suggestion, explaining that bullying was not the reason she declined the reported role.
She said she woke up to discover her name on a list she knew nothing about and reiterated that she had previously made it clear that she was not interested in politics.
The published campaign structure names Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. Jide Kosoko is listed as Co-Director, while Eniola Badmus is named Deputy Director.
The campaign council was scheduled for inauguration on September 18 at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Abraham’s position is that her appearance on the published list does not mean she accepted membership of the campaign council.
