Mr Macaroni has disclosed that he has no immediate interest in pursuing a political career, saying his observations of Nigeria’s political environment have influenced his decision.

The comedian made the disclosure in a viral video while discussing his experiences as a social commentator and the difficulties that come with speaking about issues affecting Nigerians.

He said people who advocate for citizens can sometimes face opposition from the same members of the public they are trying to support.

According to him, Nigerians may initially react strongly to economic or social problems but later stop demanding answers as attention moves to other issues.

“I’m so happy about how things have been, and you keep talking, and it seems like you’re the troublesome person,” he said.

The comedian said this pattern has contributed to his reservations about politics.

“I look at Nigeria, and I don’t think I want to get into the political space because it seems like the political space in Nigeria corrupts the very best of us,” he said.

Mr Macaroni further reflected on the careers of people he once admired, saying some of them ventured into politics and, in his view, affected the legacies they had previously built.

“Men that you have looked up to and you have respected, they got into politics and ruined their legacy,” he said.

He also questioned how Nigerians respond to rising living costs.

Using fuel prices as an example, he said Nigerians often complain when prices increase but eventually become accustomed to the situation.

“Everybody will just talk, one, two days, next thing, e don go, we don move on,” he said.

Mr Macaroni argued that this pattern makes it difficult to sustain public pressure over issues affecting citizens.

He also criticised the popular idea that Nigerians should take pride in surviving difficult conditions.

The comedian said enduring hardship should not be regarded as a badge of honour.

“Nigerians take pride in telling you, ah, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere. It’s not something to brag about,” he said.
