Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has said he still considers himself a pastor, revealing that he was ordained by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Anuku made the revelation during a conversation on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he discussed his Christian faith and theological background.
The actor disclosed that he studied theology at Redemption Camp while living in Lagos and said his involvement in ministry was driven by his love for God.
According to him, his decision to pursue the spiritual path followed what he believed was divine direction.
Anuku explained that many people are unaware of his pastoral background because they primarily know him through his work in the Nigerian movie industry.
He maintained, however, that his identity as an actor does not erase his involvement in Christian ministry.

The veteran entertainer also revealed that his ordination took place when his wife was still alive.
He challenged anyone who doubted his claim to seek confirmation from Adeboye, saying the RCCG leader could verify his account.
During the interview, Anuku spoke about the importance of prayer and dependence on God, stressing his belief that divine power exceeds human strength.
He explained that his relationship with God has been an important influence on his personal journey and decision to study theology.
The disclosure has generated renewed interest in the actor’s life beyond the screen, particularly his reported theological education and claimed ordination.
Anuku has enjoyed a long career in Nollywood, appearing in various films and becoming a familiar figure among Nigerian movie audiences.
His latest revelation, however, highlights a different aspect of his personal history and the role religion has played in shaping his beliefs.
The actor’s comments also underline the distinction between his public career in entertainment and the spiritual identity he says he continues to maintain.
He reiterated his commitment to his faith, saying that love for God and prayer remain central to his outlook on life.
